Ingredients
- 2 cups water
- 1 package taco seasoning mix, divided
- 1 cup uncooked rice
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- Vegetable cooking spray
- 1 6-ounce can tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Combine Water, 1/2 package taco seasoning mix and rice in 2-to-3 quart saucepan. Bring to a boil; stir once or twice. Reduce heat; cover and simmer 15 minutes.
- Combine ground beef with remaining 1/2 package taco seasoning mix. Shape into 4 equal patties. Place large skillet coated with cooking spray over medium-high heat until hot. Add burgers and cook 10 minutes.
- Add tomato sauce and continue to cook until thoroughly heated. To serve, spoon 3/4 cup rice onto individual serving plates. Place burger in center of rice and spoon sauce over top Sprinkle with cheese.
